Eiffel Tower

What's a trip to Paris without visiting (and climbing) the Eiffel tower?  Well, I suppose that would make it...  a trip to Paris without visiting (and climbing) the Eiffel tower.  But it's just wrong.

Admittedly, I'd been in Paris the November before our trip (for work) and a coworker and I tried to go up.  We got to the second level, and started waiting in line to get to the top a bit before it got dark.  You would not believe how windy it is up there.  We stood in line for about 10 mintues and couldn't take it any more.  And we left.  Without making it to the top.  Pathetic.  Fortunately for me, I got a chance to try again.  This time it was a bit warmer (although not much) and I was dressed more appropriately.  Definitely, going to the top is worth it.  We did choose the option of taking the elevators up each level.  It is possible to take the stairs up to the first level.  And in case you were wondering, yes, there are bathrooms at the top.

One point of interest is that there's food on the second level (or is it the first level?).  I'm not refering to the restaurant.  This food is for the average Joe, erm, Pierre.  When it's cold, getting a hot chocolate helps a lot.  And the pommes frites hit the spot.  While we didn't go to the restaurant (Jules Verne) I've heard it's way over priced and the food isn't very good.  But heck, you won't find better views.
