Keukenhof

I have a pretty hard time remembering how to spell Keukenhof too, so again, I apologize if I spell it wrong somewhere around this web page!

As an American visiting Holland, what's the first thing you're going to think of?  No, not drugs.  Tulips!  We got lucky with our trip that we caught the tail end of tulip season.  Driving around you could still find huge fields of tulips, and we managed to catch Keukenhof while it was still open.  Keukenhof is difficult to explain, but think of it as a huge garden.  It's not a continuous garden, it's more like a large park with many landscaped gardens distributed through it, a few exhibition buildings and some restaurants.  Each garden had different themes although they were all primarily tulips.  You'll see in the pictures.  And boy, what pictures.  I took over 500 pictures just at Keukenhof, and I would have taken more but I ran out of space on my card.  Even Melissa got into the picture taking mood although half the time she seemed to be taking a picture of me taking a picture!  It's funny too, friends of ours had visited Holland and Keukenhof the previous year (or maybe the year before that) and a number of our pictures were of the exact same things.  I guess we both have good taste.

If you plan to visit Holland and you're looking at spring time, I highly recommend that you try to schedule your visit to coincide with the few weeks that Keukenhof is open.
