Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

This building is a reproduction of the original Victorian era Globe Theatre where Shakespeare acted, and wrote.  It was built using the same technology as the original, and is the only building in London that has a thatched roof as thatched roofs were outlawed after the Great Fire.  There is no audio amplification and no modern stage lighting.  Plays are performed during daylight hours as they were then.  Ticket prices seemed to be fairly low, and you can even buy standing room tickets for the floor in the center.  We had trouble managing to get into this place due to bad planning and bad timing but it was one of the most enjoyable tours we had on our trip.
