France

It's hard to say we visited France as opposed to Paris as we spent most of our time in Paris.  However, we did make one day trip to Versailles.  Overall we were in Paris for 3 1/2 days and spent one full day in Versailles.  Of the places we visited, we enjoyed France the most.  That was an unexpected pleasure as we really didn't have much of an urge to visit to begin with.  We spend a lot of time eating and visiting historical sites when traveling and, obviously, Paris has these in spades.  While we were a bit disappointed by the food (my guess is we didn't find the right places) the ability to have dinner by the Seine, grab a baguette for a quick snack or get a sidewalk cup off coffee while watching the world walk by were wonderful.

As for the "sites" I can't imagine there's any place in the world with as many interesting things to visit as Paris.  Many of them are the "touristy" type, but just walking around the city allows you to find all sorts of interesting things.

As for Versailles, it was completely up my alley.  I'd love to go back there when during warmer weather to see the gardens in their full glory.  If you ever visit Paris and are looking for one thing to do outside of Paris, visit Versailles.
