Abbey Road Being a fairly big Beatles fan, I was pretty excited when I realized that Abbey Road (and Abbey Road Studio) was only a ten minute walk from our hotel in London. So one day, I dragged Melissa off to find it. I have to admit, it was a bit disappointing. Other than the Beatles graffiti in the area, there wasn't much there. The studio is a working studio and does not do tours or anything like that. On the first stop by here, I missed the fact that the zebra crossing (crosswalk) that is on the cover of the Abbey Road album is right outside of the studio. I didn't realize this until later, and we did walk by again the day we went to the Zoo (it was on the way back). I got a picture or two of the crosswalk, but none with me walking barefoot across it. To be honest, you sort of have to take your life in your hands to walk across it, let alone to take a picture of someone walking across it! Generally speaking, there's nothing to see here unless you're a big Beatles fan. And the official Abbey Road Cafe that's "just down the street" isn't, and it's not worth visiting either! |
