Stonehenge The Sunday that we left Bath we headed east towards London, stopping at Stonehenge on the way (as well as Windsor Castle and Beaconsfield). Tack onto that our horrendous drive to find the car rental return at Heathrow and it was a loong day! Anyway, back to Stonehenge... There's not much to say here that most people don't already know. Stonehenge is sort of in the middle of no where except that it's pretty close off the A303. One interesting thing I learned while looking up the road just now is that it is possible to get inside the stone circle if you book in advance. It's only allowed when not open to the general public (mornings) and only during certain times of the year. Here's a decent site about Stonehenge although I could not, for the life of me, find directions on this site! |
