Kensington Palace

While the interior of Kensington was off limits to cameras, I did get a few shots of the area around it.   These include the gates at which people laid flowers for Diana when she died and the Orangery which once was a greenhouse but is now a restaurant.

The parts of the palace that was open to tourists included a few mocked up state rooms with period clothing and the apartments of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdown.  There was also a "Memories of Royal Occasions" exhibit that showed some of the dresses and other attire of the Queen from 1945-1972.  Included in this was an area were tourists were encouraged to leave messages about their own memories of the Queen.

We had lunch at the Orangery and conveniently missed some of the rain.  The food was good, the dessert table was amazing and the check was spectacularly large for what we got!  We were freezing by the time we got here and were very excited to get some hot tea and a bite to eat.
