Palace of Westminster/Parliament

The British Parliament building is actually the Palace of Westminster.  The origins of the Palace date back to as early as the 11th century.  What exists today is mostly the product of the mid to late 1800's.  We did not go inside but it seems as if it's fairly difficult to get inside as a foreigner.  From what I could tell you need to work through the US Embassy in advance.  Regardless of going inside, it does happen to be one of the most photogenic buildings in London and I took a lot of pictures from both the Thames and from land.  The clock tower holding Big Ben (and yes, the name is for the bell in the tower, not the name of the tower itself!) also lends itself to pictures as you can see it from many different places.
